Does personalizing make the yearbook less inclusive?
No. Every family who orders gets the same shared school book, and personalization only adds pages to it: it does not move, shrink or remove anything in the book everyone else gets. A child whose family chooses the traditional book is in exactly the same shared pages as a child whose family upgrades.
What every family gets
The traditional yearbook is the school’s own book, at the price the school sets. It is whatever your team plans and designs: typically the cover, staff pages, class portrait pages, grade spreads and the year’s events. Those pages are identical in every copy, whether the family paid for an upgrade or not.
What the upgrade adds
For +$10, a family’s copy also gets:
- myClass or myGrade pages: 35–60 candid photos from their child’s own class and grade, built automatically from the photos the school uploads.
- Their child’s name and photo on the cover, front or back, as your team chooses.
- The option to add two custom pages of their own photos from home.
That is the whole difference between the two books. The shared pages do not change.
What about families who don’t upgrade?
Their child is not left out of anything the school made. The shared book is laid out the same way no matter who orders, so no child gets less room in it because of what their family bought.
What their copy does not have is the extra section built around their own class and grade. That is a real difference, and it is why the upgrade is a family’s choice rather than a school-wide price increase.
Why the upgrade can make a book more inclusive, not less
A shared book has a fixed number of photo spaces and a whole school competing for them. The children who fill them tend to be the ones in the middle of every event. The quieter children, the ones who miss evening events, are the ones who go missing. Why that happens →
Personalized pages come from the child’s own class and grade, so they are not competing with the rest of the school for space. They do have a limit: they can only use photos your school actually took. No book, personalized or not, can include a child nobody photographed. What if the price is the worry?
The upgrade is optional and flat at +$10, so no family has to pay it to get the school’s book. The number your school controls is the traditional book’s price: you set it, and you decide how much fundraising margin, if any, goes on top. Do you guarantee delivery before the last day of school?
Yes. Approve your book for print at least 3 weeks before you need it, and we guarantee delivery before your last day of school; if we miss that, we make it right by reprinting or refunding the affected books. Every book is printed in the USA.
