Canva yearbook layouts, embellishments and special pages
These are three Canva libraries for building yearbook pages faster: page layouts you fill with your own photos, embellishments that add a playful finish, and special pages for the sections every yearbook needs. Open a library, copy the page or element you want, and paste it into your own Canva yearbook.
They work in any Canva design, including one you started from scratch. They’re on one page because you use them together: a typical page starts from a layout, picks up a few embellishments, and sits next to a special page in the same design.
Page layouts.
Ready-made page layouts to drop into your design and fill with your own photos: grids, collages, feature spreads and section openers, all sized for a yearbook page.
Use them for the pages that repeat: grade spreads, event spreads, “daily life” pages. Using the same few layouts across a section keeps the book consistent without designing each page from scratch.

Embellishments.
Elements and objects that add a personal, creative touch: playful icons, themed graphics, badges and accents.
Use them for highlighting a special moment, adding flair to a collage, or giving a section divider a fun twist. A little goes a long way. Pick two or three for a section and reuse them, so the book reads as one design.

Use them for the pages people forget until late, such as the back matter and the PTA’s page. Give them a row on your ladder at the start, so they have space when you need them.

How do I copy something from a library into my yearbook?
- Open the library link. It opens as your own copy in Canva, so you can’t change the original and nobody else sees your edits.
- Find the page or element you want in the page thumbnails.
- Select it and copy (⌘C or Ctrl+C). For a whole page, select everything on the page first.
- Switch to your yearbook design and paste (⌘V or Ctrl+V) onto the page.
- Replace the placeholder photos and text with your own, and adjust colors to match your template.
- Check it against your page size before you move on. A layout copied between designs of different sizes may need resizing.
Tips.
- Decide your layouts per section, once. Consistency is what makes a volunteer-made book look professional.
- Don’t let decoration crowd out children. Every embellishment takes space a photo could have used.
- Keep text and faces away from the page edges, which are trimmed in printing.
