Most parents want more than grades — they want to know what their child’s days actually feel like.
Who they sit with.
What makes them laugh.
What they’re proud of.
What’s hard.
Understanding Your Child's School Life
Here are a few simple ways to get that window into their world — and turn it into memories they’ll actually keep.
Show up.
School events, performances, and open houses reveal how your child moves through their day. Snap a few candid photos or save a program — these are perfect to add to their personalized yearbook pages or tuck into a memory box.
Talk to teachers.
Teachers often see sides of your child you don’t. Jot down a favorite comment or story and include it as a short note in their custom yearbook page.
Volunteer when you can.
Field trips and classroom days give you a front-row seat to your child’s real school life. Capture photos of them with friends or working on projects and save them for their yearbook.
Look at their work.
Messy notebooks, drawings, and half-finished projects tell a real story. Scan or photograph a few and add them to their custom pages or keep the originals in a memory box.
Ask better questions.
“Who did you sit with?” or “What made you laugh today?” Write down their answers — these little quotes become some of the most meaningful yearbook memories.
Stay connected.
School newsletters, class photos, and teacher updates are full of moments you might miss. Save the ones that feel like your child and include them in their personalized pages.
Connect with other parents.
Other families often capture moments you weren’t there for. Trade photos or stories and add them to your child’s yearbook or keepsake box.
All of these small moments are what make childhood.
A great yearbook doesn’t just show what a child looked like — it shows who they were.
That’s what turns it into something they’ll want to open again years from now.
That’s what Rethink Yearbooks is here to help you create. 💛
